


Our Head Chef, Gwen
Kenneally, has loved food since she was a small child in Petaluma,
California. She grew up cooking with her extended family and began
cooking seriously when she discovered the unifying effect of good
food--in the idea, the shopping, the cooking and the eating--in her own
family.
As Gwen experimented and people raved, she began to collect
and develop recipes that she began to prepare professionally in the Los
Angeles Catering scene. As a single mother, Gwen found ways of
adapting her recipes to allow busy families to eat great food without
spending the day slaving in the kitchen. Eventually, her work was
discovered by the Sun Community newspapers of the San Fernando Valley,
in which she has a weekly cooking column.
Chef Gwen founded Back to the Kitchen in 2005 as a caterer and party planning service, after having spend over 10 years cooking for some of L.A.'s hottest caterers. She has cooked for Bill and Hillary Clinton, among many others, and is constantly creating new recipes for herself and her clients.
Over
the last three years, Back to the Kitchen has cooked for presidents,
Hollywood executives, and has coordinated exciting events including
weddings, bar/bat
mitzvahs, and many special occasions such as the wrap party for the TV
show Six
Feet Under at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary.
